The Ultimate Guide to Summer Date Nights
We always assume things slowdown in the summer - where we can put our feet up and relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of the previous months … but we are WRONG! Not sure what it is, but summer days get filled up pretty quickly and the days seem to fly by with the activities we jam in for the kids and/or friends and family. So it is still just as important to get in that time to have a quiet date night to reconnect and force the R&R. Some ideas for an easy summer date night include:
Movie Outdoors- how about cuddling up by a fire with some popcorn and an old move fave? It's pretty easy to set up a projector outdoors and just take the date outside under the stars. No firepit/projector - no problem. The drive-ins are back. Look up your nearest drive-in and do it the old fashioned way!
Cooking up something new - your social media feed is likely filled with the latest foodie craze or cooking hacks (via TikTok) so why not try it out. Make a night of it with your partner. Open up a bottle of wine and try something new. If it doesn't work out - there is always your local pizza joint on speed dial.
Random restaurant - cooking isn't your thing? Why not support a local mom and pop restaurant? The pandemic has wreaked havoc on small businesses and there are a few that are surviving and popping up as we come out of the last couple years. Take a look to find a new place you want to try and at the same time support your local community businesses.
Comfortably uncomfortable - sometimes we rely on the same ol for date nights. Movie and dinner or home on the couch with dinner and Netflix. Perhaps it is time to spice things up with a new activity. Have you gone axe throwing? Tried wall climbing? Explored a new hiking trail? Or tried a new activity altogether. Brainstorm something new and out of the box with your partner and say yes to the first craziest idea. You may have a laugh about it and it might not be perfect, but it will be worth it to try something you haven't before.
